Atomic number can be defined as the total number of protons available in the atom of an element.

Atomic mass can be defined as the sum of total number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus of an atom.

Nucleons can be defined as the collective group of number of protons and neutrons.

Valence shell can be defined as the outermost shell or orbit of an atom of element.
